What’s the difference between Panel Glide Blinds and Vertical Blinds?
It is easy to get confused by the differences in panel guide blinds and vertical blinds, but panel guide blinds can be customised with materials and fabric of choice. You will find them used for closet doors or room dividers as an elevated change within a space to add simplicity with an elegant flair.
Panel glides are great for blocking light and providing privacy depending on the type of fabric you choose during manufacturing. While they are not as adept as light control, they offer high levels of privacy and light blocking. Additionally, panel glides help keep the temperature regulated in the room. One of the reasons for this is the number of panels used which is lower than that of a vertical blind system. This helps with energy bills.
What To Consider
Choosing the right types of blinds is dependent on your wants and needs. We want to make sure you make the right decision that will work best for your situation. There are some challenges to consider if you are thinking about cellular blinds in your home or office.
Here are a few things to think about:
Style
While these are a convenient choice, they may not work with your design aesthetic depending on what you are looking for. One of the advantages of this style is its ability to pair with other window treatments to create the aesthetic you want.
Light
Cellular shades do not allow the control of light if the shade is entirely down. While some blinds allow light to be filtered in, and other blinds have a translucent appearance. Honeycomb blinds are very effective in keeping the light out.
Maintenance
Pleated shades are known to get dirty over a certain period and can look dingy if not properly cleaned. There is a special technique needed to clean these blinds and maintain their appearance over time. We provide information on how to keep these shades clean and pristine.

Design Options for Panel Glide Blinds
- As a shade view screen panel – This allows you to enjoy the benefits of natural light while not hindering your view.
- As a fabric panel – Using back batons, coordinate your Panel Glide with Roman Blinds, with the advantages of a sliding Panel rather than lifting. Create a more relaxed informal look.
- As a fabric panel to match any décor or existing roller blinds with an easy-clean finish.
- Panel glide blinds are available in a large range of fabrics and colours with back batons or with coloured front batons.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs about Panel Glide Blinds
Panel Glide Blinds are an excellent option for sliding doorways. They can stack to the same side of the sliding door allowing easy and practical access for that doorway. Customers can also choose where to stop the panel glide to maintain insulation and light control while still being able to use the door.
For the best look, we recommend purchasing a pelmet for the panel glide to hide the track and brackets. The pelmet also helps with insulation.
For a one-way stack, a maximum of 5 panels can be selected. For a center opening Panel Glide Blind, a maximum of 8 panels can be selected. At Complete Blinds, we recommend smaller panels for the best operation.
The Panel Glide blind is controlled using a “wand”. This is the best option for operation and child safety as it limits cords.
At Complete Blinds, we offer blockout, light filtering, and sunscreen fabrics to all of our customers. We only use premium brands for the best quality.
